Hulkro has been engaged by SRC Infrastructure, on behalf of Transport for London (TfL), to carry out slip resistance assessments across the London Underground network. The programme ensures that pedestrian and staff areas meet TfL’s safety requirements by accurately measuring the slip resistance of flooring surfaces in a variety of conditions.
Our team is delivering:
Slip resistance testing using a Munro Instruments portable skid resistance tester
Assessments under both dry and wet conditions using a 4S (96) contact rubber slider, in line with Rubber and Plastics Research Association specifications
Testing in three directions at each location – along the principal axis, and at 90° and 45° angles
Multiple readings per test, with an average calculated from the final five results for accuracy
Pre-test cleaning to remove debris and dust, ensuring reliable results
This systematic approach provides TfL with precise, repeatable data to inform safety decisions and maintain compliance across its network. By combining technical accuracy with consistent methodology, Hulkro is helping to ensure safe, accessible travel for millions of passengers each year.
